Shiseido Perfect UV Protector SPF 50 PA +++ Review
Hello Lovely Ladies,
I had shared some sunscreen options with you earlier – Estee Lauder Cyberwhite Full Spectrum UV Protector, Kiehl’s Water Based lotion SPF 25 – and today, I bring to you another sunscreen I bought around the same time, but missed on reviewing. This one’s from Shiseido – a brand known for their sunscreens. They have quite a variety of them in circulation in different markets. It was fairly tough deciding what to pick. I sometimes feel brands confuse the customer and lose them when they put up way too many options to choose from.

Price:
INR 2300 for 50 ml (I think prices have gone up recently, so not sure of the current price).
Packaging:
The product comes packaged in a white plastic bottle with a screw on cap. The shade of the bottle is unique to Shiseido and is distinct – check pics for the same. The bottle has a tiny nozzle, to ensure only a tiny amount is dispensed out at one time – giving you total control. The bottle comes packaged in a matching cardboard box. The bottle is fairly small insize – so extremely travel friendly.
My Experience with Shiseido Perfect UV Protector SPF 50 PA +++:
First, my skin type – on the wrong side of 30 with oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin. Skin is oily in summers and combination in winters. As I mentioned earlier, Shiseido is known Internationally for their sunscreens and have a wide variety of sunscreens, including products formulated especially for sensitive skin. Instead of picking the one for sensitive skin, I went with the regular one but with SPF 50 +++. It’s a full-spectrum UV protector with SPF 50 PA+++. Plus it has additional ingredients to help counter oxidation.
The product has a tendency to separate in the bottle. That’s why the bottle has a little bead in it and it is advised on the bottle to shake it before using – to allow the product to mix. The product consists of a runny white liquid. It’s easy to apply and blend it onto the skin. This water-resistant liquid is extremely lightweight, spreads easily and gets absorbed by the skin. There is no white film, no greasiness, nothing. It is not matte finish either. However, it does not leave the skin dewy either. The skin looks normal post application. It blends in while applying – does not seem to need a settling period.
Since it spreads easily, a little goes a long way. However, would always recommend to use sunscreen liberally to reap its true benefit. The foundation goes on it it smoothly. It does not increase longevity of the foundation but does provide a smoother base to work on.
Since it’s water resistant, it does not break down with sweat. This is where it has a big edge over the Estee lauder UV Protector, which is water based. I use this over my moisturizer as a last step of skin care before I start with my makeup. It has never caused me to breakout and does not sting my eyes.
It’s easy to take off too – my makeup remover/cleanser takes care of removing it effectively from skin.
To sum this up for you:

- No sign of greasiness – not when you apply, nor later.
- SPF 50 PA+++ – Full spectrum UV protection.
- Did not break me out.
- Does not sting the eyes.
- Does not seem to need settling time – blends effortlessly.
Cons of Shiseido Perfect UV Protector SPF 50 PA +++:
- None!
IMBB Rating:
6/5
This is pretty much what a perfect sunscreen should be like. This is HG product for me. I do not need to go searching for another sunscreen again. You really have to try it realize how amazing it is. I used to shy away from using sunscreen (despite knowing how essential they are) cause of the invariable greasiness or shine – whether immediate post application or a couple of hours later. This has truly changed that for me!
